TIG welding torches
TIG welding torches from ABICOR BINZEL means powerful technology for the very demanding and precise work involved in TIG welding. The wear parts system of these TIG torches is so extensive that each one can be ideally adapted to the needs of the welder and the accessibility to the component – with maximum process reliability. The very flexible, lightweight cable assemblies of the ABICOR BINZEL TIG torches can be easily handled and brought into other individual comfort positions. Ideal for the highest technical demands!
When speaking of welding equipment for tungsten inert gas welding (TIG), TIG welding torches are the subject. The small, powerful, flexible TIG torches from ABICOR BINZEL stand for sophisticated technology for the very demanding and precise work involved in TIG welding. All our TIG torches with a handle carry the product brand name ABITIG®, which stands for »ABICOR BINZEL TIG torch«.

TIG cable assembly
A TIG cable assembly from ABICOR BINZEL is characterized primarily by its very low weight and high flexibility. Since TIG welding involves very fine welding work, it is a basic requirement for a TIG torch that its cable assembly is flexible and easy to use. The cable assemblies of all TIG manual torches from ABICOR BINZEL have modular machine-side connections and fit all common TIG welding machines. With the TIG cable assemblies of the ABITIG® GRIP series you have a complete range of different performance sizes in air cooled and liquid cooled versions as well as an ergonomic handle – these are also available in different sizes – so that the TIG cable assembly can be optimally guided.
TIG welding torches: accessories
The available accessories for the flexible TIG torches from ABICOR BINZEL are extensive and each of our TIG welding torches is well designed so that it can be ideally adapted to the needs of the welder and the accessibility to the component – with the highest process reliability.
Secret of success: electrode holder
One of the secrets of success in the special TIG accessory concept from ABICOR BINZEL is the electrode holder. This accessory consists of a combination of collet and collet body, has an optimised cooling surface and guarantees perfect positioning of the tungsten electrode. Since this concept eliminates the TIG accessory part, the clamping sleeve, this also has a positive effect on storage.
Finding the right TIG welding electrode
Tungsten electrodes – also known as TIG welding electrodes – are used for TIG welding. These are available in a wide variety of designs and material compositions. However, the main component of every electrode in TIG welding is tungsten. When it comes to using the right tungsten electrode for a TIG welding task, the properties of the material added to the tungsten must be known. The following overview provides a brief overview of which tungsten electrode is right for your application:

The long-lasting, universally applicable E3® tungsten electrodes (doping: oxides of rare earths) – developed by ABICOR BINZEL® – guarantee the best results in TIG welding. The electrodes are manufactured in our own production network and correspond to the EN ISO 6848 standard. Each electrode packaging is provided with a batch number, which makes identification much easier in the event of troubleshooting. A batch-dependent production certificate and a safety data sheet can be provided on request.
You can find more information about the tungsten electrode, about TIG welding electrode grinding, the tungsten electrode colors, what you have to consider when choosing TIG electrodes, as well as the various material compositions, the welding properties and the main areas of application here.
TIG torches: setup
Using the ABICOR BINZEL variant number system, every TIG torch or ABITIG® torch can be ordered precisely for the respective welding machine or TIG torch types can be configured individually. The TIG configurator is an excellent aid for this. The structure of the torch neck and the wear parts of the ABICOR BINZEL TIG torches with one to two-digit type designations such as for example ABITIG® GRIP 17 correspond to the worldwide standard LINDE®-style. These TIG torches have a ceramic gas nozzle, a collet body and a collet.
Small torch – great performance
The ABICOR BINZEL TIG welding torch with a three-digit type designation such as for example ABITIG® GRIP 260 differ well thought-out in the technology and design of the torch neck and the wear parts. The electrode holder with its innovative combination of clamping sleeve and clamping sleeve housing and the optimized cooling surface is outstanding. These ABICOR BINZEL TIG welding torches of the ABITIG® line with a three-digit type designation also have a smaller torch neck and just one wear part less than the standard LINDE®-style on the market and convince with higher performance and better accessibility to the welding point than TIG torches of other sizes .
The original ABICOR BINZEL tungsten electrodes are integrated into these TIG torches ideally so that heat can be optimally emitted and the electrode wears out less quickly. Overall, the very flexible, lightweight cable assemblies of the various TIG torch types from ABICOR BINZEL can be handled very comfortably or brought into other individual comfort positions. Various types of modules in the ABITIG® GRIP handles facilitate remote control of the welding machine. Ideal for the highest technical demands!
All ABITIG® welding torches from ABICOR BINZEL, with the exception of the V torches (valve torches), are available in the standard ABITIG® GRIP handle, but also in the »little« version for best accessibility to the component and optimal handling during welding. All ergonomically shaped handles have incorporated a robust soft component, which ensures the best grip when guiding the torch and thus optimal handling.
TIG welding torch applications
If a very good seam quality is desired or if the penetration is to be concentrated and only a small heat-affected zone is to be achieved, the TIG welding process is used. Since the application process is slower compared to MIG/MAG welding, quality comes before quantity. Every metal can be welded either manually or automatically with a TIG welding torch. TIG torches are particularly suitable where alloyed steels, special materials (e. g. nickel and cobalt alloys) or light metals are used, such as:
- titanium
- magnesium
- copper brass
- aluminum
Because the TIG welding process creates visually demanding visible seams, it is mainly used in apparatus and pipeline construction, in the frame construction of bicycles or in the chemical and food industries. Depending on the power requirement and area of application, there are differences in the types of TIG torches.
ABICOR BINZEL TIG welding torches as well as suitable wear parts can be purchased from ABICOR BINZEL's global network of distributors. Including, for example, original ABICOR BINZEL ceramic gas nozzles, electrode holders, clamping sleeves, back caps or tungsten electrodes and much more.
