Features of the torch cleaning station TCS-FP
The torch cleaning station TCS-FP is an efficient maintenance unit with plug & play solution that can be easily integrated into your welding processes. The most important components are:
Gas nozzle cutter and gas nozzle clamping device
Cutters specially matched to the gas nozzle with clamping jaws corresponding to the gas nozzle diameters guarantee a firm, centred fit of the gas nozzle during the entire cleaning process.
TSi injection unit for welding protection spray
The special anti-spatter spray unit enables a precise, economical spraying of anti-spatter spray via the robot movement after the cleaning process. This environmentally friendly unit can be maintained without tools. No robot signal is required to activate the injection process.
Wire cutting device DAV
The unique clamping and wire cutting movement ensures a clean and precise cut of the welding wire and safe adherence to the TCP. This maintenance step enables reliable arc ignition throughout the process.
Control board
With the help of the integrated control board, you can conveniently and easily adjust some of the cleaning parameters of the unit via the ABICOR BINZEL service software. For example, the cleaning cycle time can be adjusted to the process requirements. You can also control the upper dwell time – the time the cleaning cutter remains in the gas nozzle.
The unit is optionally available with a fieldbus connection.
Functions and advantages
The torch cleaning station TCS-FP is based on the cutter cleaning system. Here, it is important that the cutter and the torch head geometry are ideally matched to achieve the best cleaning results. Both the inner contour of the gas nozzle and the outer contour of the contact tip and contact tip holder must be completely free of weld spatter after the cleaning interval. The aim is to ensure safe and trouble-free shielding gas flow. Perfect shielding gas coverage guarantees top welding results and thus a safe and high-quality welding process.

To set up your cutter unit, you must ensure that the clamping jaws and the cutter are suitable for the gas nozzle size. The inner diameter and the outer diameter of the gas nozzle as well as the gas nozzle length are decisive for this. You also select the size of the cutter according to these dimensions.
With the matching clamping jaw set, you can centre the gas nozzle. In this way, the clamping force and concentricity during torch cleaning are optimal. The secure clamping of the gas nozzle minimises the impact of force on the welding torch during the torch cleaning process. In this way, you obtain a longer service life of the welding torch as well as a high TCP accuracy of the torch.
Positioning of the cutter
With the setup tool included in the scope of delivery, you can easily carry out setup work for the cutting process. Thus, you can easily and safely set the correct position of the cleaning cutter in relation to the torch position on the unit.
Also use the manual TCP control point to check the position of your robot torch. This is mounted above the cutter position.
Set up TSi injection unit
The new TSi injection unit for applying the anti-spatter spray allows you to individually adjust the amount of spray. Simply regulate it with a slotted screwdriver by tightening or loosening the screw (see illustration). The ideal result is a fine spray mist that is well distributed on the wear parts in the torch front end within 1-2 seconds.
Wire cutting device DAV
The special feature of the TCS-FP cleaning station is the wire cutting process. To cut the wire, a supporting block is extended, which fixes the wire to the rear block. A shear blade slides underneath, which makes a safe, clean and precise cut.
You can easily extend the life cycle of the shear blade: For this, move the rear block by about 3 mm after about 10,000 cuts. In this way you can use the shear blade for 40,000 to 50,000 cuts.
