Welding tractor complete solution ABICAR POWER PAK
Welding long seams even easier
Welding long distances is part of your daily routine? Back and shoulder pain as well? Take the strain out of MIG welding or MAG welding. With the ABICAR POWER PAK from ABICOR BINZEL.
This practical welding tractor complete solution consists of a battery-free welding tractor, manual welding torch, TCP clamp and power source with wire feed unit. TCP – Tool Center Point – is a term coming from automation and means working point.
All components are optimally matched to each other, and you don't have to find and put together anything yourself. With the ABICAR POWER PAK you get an all-in-one solution that allows you to achieve consistently good welding results metre by metre. And practically at the same time you avoid longer forced positions, because: The welding tractor does the work for you. If parameters need to be adjusted, simply do it via the welding tractor.
Even if, for example, you have to unclamp and clamp the torch at the beginning or end of a weld joint in order to weld to the edge, a stable TCP is guaranteed. The special TCP clamp ensures that you can continue welding with consistent quality and time saved throughout. Also suitable for vertical-up welding.

When do you need the ABICAR POWER PAK system solution?
You don't want to spend a long time looking for suitable components for welding with a welding tractor and having to "piece-meal" them? It is important to you that the TCP remains the same after re-clamping the welding torch? You want the welding torch, welding tractor and power source to harmonise perfectly? Then the ABICAR POWER PAK system solution is the ideal solution for you.
Optimal for electrically hazardous areas
Do you often have to weld long distances in electrically hazardous areas such as in boilers? Welding standing on live metal sheets is part of your daily routine? Simply choose a welding tractor for 42 volt operating voltage for your ABICAR POWER PAK system solution. Thus, you can also work safely wherever you have to weld at low voltage due to the environment.
Advantages of the ABICAR POWER PAK
- Perfect complete equipment for the ABICAR welding tractors for economical and efficient welding of long components
- High-quality welding results of consistent quality even with long welding joints
- Pragmatic solution for the occupational health and safety of welders
- Welding tractor without battery operation and thus without depletion of the environment
The welding tractors
The welding tractors, which we also offer in the 42 volt version in addition to the standard 230 volt version, are the heart of the ABICAR POWER PAK, so to speak. The welding tractor takes over the continuous torch guidance and thus relieves you from welding in a forced position. Nevertheless, you retain full control over the welding process throughout. ABICOR BINZEL offers practical welding tractors in two different versions:
ABICAR ADVANCED
for welding long seams for up to 2 welding torches, which is also suitable for vertical-up welding seams.
ABICAR 1200 PRO
can also be used for overhead welding, stitch welding and oscillation. With this device, you can also programme the weld seam length and store it in a programme memory.
Both welding tractors have the following in common:
- One metre of joint is welded twice as fast compared to manual welding
- Your duty cycle is 60 % instead of 25 % with manual welding
- They reduce strain strongly when welding long seams
- You can clamp and unclamp your manual welding torch within a few seconds
- No lithium-containing batteries – therefore, not only good for the environment, but also good for the user, because there are no problems with the power supply due to missing or empty batteries
The manual torches
The proven MIG/MAG welding torches ABIMIG® A T LW, ABIMIG® W T and ABIMIG® MT from ABICOR BINZEL are the basis for the suitable manual welding torches.
ABIMIG® A T LW
ABIMIG® W T
ABIMIG® MTG
For their use with the ABICAR POWER PAK and communication with the power source, these torches are equipped with an additional cable. The voltage cable and the signal cable are inside the cable assembly of the torch. Thus, there is no need for a connecting cable from the power source to the welding tractor. This makes the welding tractor easier to handle and also reduces the risk of damage or tripping.
You can easily start or stop the welding process with the START/STOP switch on the ABICAR welding tractor. Adjustments to the welding parameters during operation can be made with the UP/DOWN switch, if necessary.
If you want to continue welding manually, remove the torch in just a few steps by opening the quick connector. That's how to weld economically.
The TCP clamp
The TCP clamp is a great relief when you want to switch between welding long joints with the welding tractor and manual welding. Within seconds, you can unclamp the welding torch in just a few steps – without having to loosen any screws – and continue welding manually.
The same principle applies to re-clamping in the welding tractor when longitudinal welding is continued. Simply clamp the manual torch with the handle into the TCP clamp and you can be sure that the TCP still has the same pre-setting. A special internal design of the TCP clamp ensures a secure fit of your manual torch as well as protection against twisting.
If you often have recurring welding tasks, you reduce your set-up times to practically zero. In addition, the torch switch in the TCP clamp is protected against accidental actuation.
With the iMIG POWER 400S power source or welding unit included in the ABICAR POWER PAK, you have a reliable device for partially automated welding of your applications. The components integrated in the device are extremely robust. Therefore, you can use this power source without any problems in the tough everyday industrial environment.
The operation of the iMIG POWER 400S welding power source is user-friendly intuitive. Its arc ignition is excellent, and the arc is kept constant. Should you work in an environment where you need to weld on low voltage, everything is already prepared in this welding unit for the provision of 42 volts. You do not need to carry out any further installation measures for this.
The wire feed unit with 4-wheel drive is so flat that you can easily pull it even through low constructions.
In this configuration, the iMIG POWER 400S is only available in combination with the ABICAR POWER PAK system solution!
Battery-free system
Of course, a welding tractor with battery operation is at first glance more practical than one that is equipped with cables for the power supply.
At ABICOR BINZEL we have thought ahead. The power supply of our welding tractors is integrated in the torch cable assembly. This means you can be sure every time you use your ABICAR POWER PAK: for this practical welding tractor system solution, there was no need to mine lithium anywhere.
