Welding chemicals
Avoiding weld spatter, preventing spatter adhesion to the gas nozzle, ensuring heat dissipation - chemical products for welding such as ABIBLUE & Co. from ABICOR BINZEL ensure that the welding result meets the requirements. Anti-spatter agents, anti-spatter sprays and ceramic sprays reliably prevent residues such as water or oil from remaining on the workpiece or welding spatter from adhering to the wear parts during welding. Spraying a workpiece with an anti-spatter agent before welding or wetting the gas nozzle, contact tip and part of the gas distributor with ceramic spray has an immediate effect on the total costs. If spatter from MAG welding adheres, these stick and require reworking. Each rework costs money and can also cause damage. With the right preparation of the welding torch and the workpiece, these costs can be significantly reduced.
Liquid cooled welding and cutting systems need a good coolant to be able to dissipate the heat from the process. All ABICOR BINZEL coolants have a relatively low conductance of < 4 microsiemens, which is considerably lower than with coolants from other manufacturers.
Good to know: All ABICOR BINZEL anti-spatter agents and coolants are always silicone-free!
Why use coolant and not water in refrigeration appliances?
Anyone who cools his welding torch with water from the water pipe will soon no longer be able to weld with it. Why? Water has a relatively high conductance, which is between 700 and 900 microsiemens (mS). When electricity flows through water, the electrical energy is transformed into chemical energy – this is also referred to as decomposition voltage. In this process, the gases hydrogen and oxygen are produced in a ratio of 2:1 and metal components dissolve. In a liquid cooled welding torch, the cooling liquid is led past a current-carrying cable. If this liquid cooling is water from the water pipe, oxidation particles are released and the torch clogs. This process is also known as electro-corrosion. With the right coolant, electro-corrosion cannot occur and the welding torch remains fully efficient.
