xFUME® ROBO: Welding fume extraction in robot welding
Fume extraction torch xFUME® ABIROB® A/W
Proven robot torch technology with integrated extraction at source
You want to provide a healthy working environment in your automated production facility? You want your employees to be optimally protected from harmful fumes? Perhaps you are a newcomer to extraction technology and are looking for customised solutions for your welding production? With the xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torches from ABICOR BINZEL for industrial robots with an externally guided cable assembly and cobots, you can extract welding fumes directly at the point of origin – and still have guaranteed good accessibility.
The best thing is that every xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torch is based on a robotic welding torch from the proven ABIROB® series from ABICOR BINZEL. For you, this means that you still have the familiar reliability of your robot torch, but also benefit from all the advantages of efficient extraction at source.
xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torches are ideal if the following applies to your production:
- The stationary welding fume extraction system for your welding cells or in the production hall is inadequate
- A hall extraction system is not an option for you due to purchase and maintenance costs
- You are already using ABIROB® welding torches and do not want to replace them completely with new extraction torches, but want to retain the Tool Centre Point (TCP)
Protection against harmful welding fumes is now a must for manufacturing companies. With the xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torches from ABICOR BINZEL, you are on the safe side when it comes to health protection during robot welding.
With the xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torch series, you don't just get reliable welding fume extraction. You also don't have to do without the usual high quality in robot welding. The reason: the torch technology is based on the well-known and proven ABIROB® torch series from ABICOR BINZEL. The extraction technology was literally developed "around it".
This torch series is extremely flexible: on the one hand, the xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torches are available as complete torches. On the other hand, you can easily convert your welding production to extraction technology if you are already using robotic torches from the ABIROB® series. The plus factor here is that the operating point (TCP) remains the same.
If you are already using ABIROB® robot torches
The welding result will be similar to what you already know from an ABIROB® welding torch. Including the integrated xFUME® extraction technology, you can produce the best weld seams and achieve almost welding fume-free air quality in your production hall.
Simply upgrade economically
You do not have to replace your ABIROB® torches with completely new extraction torches. You simply upgrade your ABIROB® series robot torches to extraction torches with extraction at source including extraction unit. At very little cost.
Your advantages:
- Converting to extraction technology couldn't be cheaper
- Continue to use your wear parts such as contact tip and contact tip holder
- The slim front end guarantees good accessibility during the welding process
- The flexible outer tube can be customised to the bending angle, bending radius and length of the ABIROB® robot torch
- Extraction at source is cheaper in terms of purchase and maintenance costs than a stationary hall extraction system
- With extraction at source instead of hall extraction, you also actively reduce your energy consumption
If you are not using ABICOR BINZEL robot torches yet
Would you like to convert your welding robots to extraction at source, but do not yet have an ABICOR BINZEL robot torch in use? Do you need new, reliable robot torches? No problem. You can also obtain complete xFUME® ABIROB® extraction torches directly from us. The extraction equipment will be set up in such a way that nothing needs to be changed in your application.

Why use extraction at source for robot welding?
Welding fume extraction is just as important for robotic welding as it is for manual welding. Although the welding specialist is not directly exposed to the fumes during robot welding, there is still an indirect hazard.
Not every welding robot is fully encased in accordance with regulations. The rising fumes escape into the environment until they can be absorbed by a stationary extraction hood or extraction system. This means that everyone working there is inevitably exposed to welding fumes.
Using extraction at source, such as with the xFUME® ABIROB® A/W, almost all of the released fumes are extracted directly at their point of origin. You can use the xFUME® ABIROB® A/W with all xFUME® extraction systems for extraction at source.
